Lotte World Tower opened in 2017. As its name suggests, Lotte Tower is built by Lotte, a giant corporation with over 90 business units employing 60,000 people. It has a business of snack and beverage manufacturing, hotels, fast food, retail, financial services, industrial chemicals, electronics, IT, construction, publishing, entertainment, etc. So, this big company invested More than 4 trillion (4.5 billion dollars) won to build the tower.

Things that you will need to know before visiting
Are you ready for an exhilarating adventure up the Lotte Tower? Before we soar to the top, let me fill you in on some important instructions. First things first, we must pass through security to ensure everyone’s safety. Don’t worry, it won’t take long! Just make sure to leave any lighters, chemical liquids, food, glass bottles, or large bags behind. If you’re unsure about any of your belongings, I’m happy to check them for you beforehand. Oh, and a quick check-in: do you have any fears of heights or small spaces? Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. Let’s go!
We will use the double-deck elevator that has two cabs attached together, one on top of the other. The double-deck elevator is good for carrying much more passengers. That’s why Lotte Tower decided to install it and also that’s why we don’t know which floor we will get off. For example, a passenger may board the lower deck (which serves only odd-numbered floors) on the concourse level while another passenger may board the upper deck (which serves even-numbered floors) on the ground floor. So, we don’t know which cab we are going to use. Anyway, it will stop between 117 – 122 floors.
On the 118 floor, there is a transparent floor. It is quite scary and thrilling, especially for me. On the 120 floors, you can use an outdoor deck. You can feel the fresh air with a great view of Seoul. Sometimes, it’s blocked whenever it’s windy. Probably today is not.

- Namsan N Tower: It’s the first type of tower in Seoul. It was built for sending out TV and radio signals. It’s now Seoul’s landmark.
- Seoul Sports Complex: The complex hosts various events like sporting events, concerts, and performances.
- Seokchondong Ancient Tombs: It was discovered during the development of the Jamsil district. With the style of the tombs, we assume that The tombs belong to one of the earliest leaders of the Baekje dynasty, which was in the 4th century.
- Lotte World: As I told you, Lotte corporation has an entertainment business unit. It’s a theme park run by Lotte.
- Garak market: One of Seoul’s large modernized markets, it sells fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, seafood, etc.
- Seoul Olympic Stadium: It is a multi-purpose stadium in Seoul. The construction took place for the 1988 Summer Olympics, along with the development of the Seoul Sports Complex.
